Chinese School
Since I was 6 years old, I have been attending the Deptford Chinese school. I have met quite a few good mates in the school. Most of them I have known for about 11 years now. Which is pretty long indeed! It was a mandarin school, my aunties and other family members also went to this school. Although I didn't like learning mandarin, I had to stick with it otherwise my parents would have killed me. hee hee!!! I managed to finish and pass all the classes (in July1999) YAY.
For some reason I got myself into "dancing and performing" at the Lewisham Theatre. I guess this is because my mates were doing it as well. I remember doing these dances when I was little...I even have a copy of it on tape ^_^ jokes innit? Below is a pic taken in the changing rooms at Lewisham Theatre....can u recognise anyone? I have kept incontact with a few of them still.
The person in the middle is my aunty..heheh she used to perform in the theatre too. I think we were just about to perform the "stick dance" after this pic was taken. Or the other dance - I can't really translate the name of the dance. My mate Ann refers to it as the "Thumb dance" or something like that HAHAHAHAHA!!.
From the pic above...I still keep in contact with Hymy (Look at her hair!!hahahhahaah) Lynn, Lena and Ann.
During the classes 1 - 5 all I remember doing is chatting and playing....I didn't really concentrate on the school work...OOOPs! But during class 6 - 7 I actually sat down and studied..wah a miracle! But then during my last class all I did was turn up and chat with my mates ^_^ Strangely enough I managed to be 2nd place in that last year hahahaha I dunno how, coz I took time off chinese school to revise for my GCSE's. Then the day I returned to chinese was the day when I had to take the final exams...no one actually told me that we had exams!!!! oh well never mind...it's in the past now.
This pic was taken at the end of the performance....all the performers and teachers had to come on to the stage and "wave" good bye to the audience....jokers!!! Hmmm I wonder if you can spot me...I'm one of the girls in pink AHHHHH... We were dancing to the chinese new year song...and Lynn was the singer ^_^ quite a good singer as well....*well done pal*.
The as the years flu by....we all got a bit older. There were some of my mates who didn't do dancing E.G Tracey (who got out of it) Amanda joined the dancing group later on...Then by the time we were in class 4..we all decided to drop the dancing coz our dancing teacher "Lynn's mum" had to teach little kids :( no fair...she was a cool teacher....She also taught us in lessons as well = how to read and write...
