| Hey Hey, the news!!! Im gonna spend some time bringing you up to speed. It might help to read the histroy because Im about to pick up where it leaves off. Kyle didnt work out. We sat on our asses some more. Then one day I (this being Nick speaking) was rehersing at school (CSU Hayward) with a bass quintet (bass nerds) and I had a question about bass strings or something so I called my bass guru friend Dave Leventhal. We started talking, and among other things I learned about his recent departure from 5606, which, he said, leaves him more time now to persue recording. To end this quickly, he told me he bought a bunch of new recording toys, and I said "hey, why dont you try them out on us!" and he said (im paraphrasing) "Ok." So then it happened. We were lucky enough to run across two fine players of the intruments we were hurting for (drums, guitar) and it began. So, the new instrumentation of Not Lenny for this CD is Nick Underwood on Bass, Paul B. on guitar, Matt DeLong on drums (ex 5606 drummer), Matt Keegan on trombone and Frank Silva on sax. This should be good; Keegy and I wrote these songs like three years ago and they're finally getting recorded in a good studio with good musicians. Im proud to say that everyone in the band is great at what they do, and each is bringing a lotta good shit to the project. And now for local news... |
| August 21 - Were done with Matt's drum tracks, were gonna bring in another drummer to play on a song, then well proceed to other stuff when the time comes.. August 10- Hey folks...the new NL demo is out!!! If you got one of the ones at the gaslighter show with Shades of Hewson, you got a screwey one, the third song should be a different one, not the same as the first. Sorry. Of course you're welcome to a new one. STUDIO NEWS: We recorded the drum tracks to Matt Keegans such a Great Guy a few days ago, and will finish up the drums for the other three after the 15th. GO GET A DEMO!!!! IT SOUNDS REALLY GOOD!!!! August 3- Nick and Paul re did some vocal tracks, and I can officially say that there will be a three track demo available by next week. Dave is going to do some fancy mixing and editing and whatever else he does to is, and then I will be at the Gaslighter in Campbell next thursday night, the 7th passing them out to anyone I can. Aside that, were also starting drum tracks phase two next week. Right now the plan is to record Worse than Most things, matt keegans such a great guy, part 2, Give it up, and a possible cover. oh yeah. July 22- So far we have recorded David's Song, Slim Chance, and Infatuation. Dave Leventhal (the recording engineer guy) is almost through mixing them. These are kinda the three OG songs, the first three we wrote. We took a break while matt and nick were in Europe and now were back. Currently rehersing and teaching new stuff to Matt D and Paul. Will hopefully get started recording drum tracks within a cupla weeks. |
