Joey wondered if it was possible to slowly die from embarrassment. Well embarrassment and desire. She couldn't get the kiss out her mind. It was the most amazing kiss she had ever experienced. Okay, admittedly it was the only kiss she had ever experienced aside from the unwanted awkward fumblings of Prince Dawson Leery. Yet somehow Joey knew that this kiss was different, that it was particularly exceptional as a kiss and that she would probably never experience a kiss like that again. She rolled around her bed in frustration. It had only been two days ago and already she was going out of her mind. *Are you okay?* *I'm fine Gilk. Absolutely peachy.* *There's no need to be snide. Its just that I'm concerned. You've been acting odd these last couple of days. Almost as if you're not really here.* *No I haven't!* Gilk stared at Joey sceptically. *Well maybe I have...just a little.* *So do you want to tell me what's wrong?* *It's just...I don't know how to explain this...It has to do with this guy I met...I mean... I don't know....It's just...* *Maybe Jen would be better at this.* Joey just stared at Gilk helplessly. *I'll go get Jen.*
"So let me get this straight...you met that lad from the tavern again?" Pacey nodded. "And you got into a fight?" Pacey nodded again. "Only to reveal during the fight that the boy was a girl?" A third nod. "And then you kissed this girl?" Up and down Pacey's head moved again. "And then the girl ran like the hounds of hell were after her?" "I think I scared her off!" moaned Pacey. Jack quietly surveyed his friend for 3 seconds before promptly bursting out into laughter. "It's not funny Jack!" "But it is Paa..c...e..y...!" chortled his highly amused friend, "I mean this is classic, Witter, absolutely classic....only you could find yourself in this predicament!!" "I always knew I could come to you for understanding and support." "And you know what the best part is?" Jack asked trying to maintain a straight face. "What?" "You don't even know her name!" With that Jack broke out into another peel of laughter.
"I hate you!" "Jen be serious." "No I'm absolutely serious Joey. You got to kiss that gorgeous hunk of a man! I mean it isn't fair!!! And you said it was passionate?" "Intensely so." "Oooh...I really hate you! And I can't believe you just ran off like that." "I know...but I was so embarrassed!" "What's there to be embarrassed about?? You kissed a gorgeous hunk of a man!! Did I mention that he was gorgeous...and absolutely sexy...." "Yes I think you mentioned that already." "And you ran off?? You're insane!! You could at least have gotten his name before you fled!!" Jen promptly started hitting Joey. "Stop that!...Jen??..It's just that I can't seem to get him out of my mind. It's bizarre but it is almost like he's haunting my every thought. I mean he's just some stranger. Why am I feeling like this? What am I going to do?" Jen stared at her friend who was a picture of confusion. "Oh Jo, it'll be okay." The two friends hugged. Jen grinned again at the thought of her friend and the stranger locked in a passionate embrace. "I knew you thought he was cute." |
