"Not that there is anything between the two of us," Jen had bemoaned, "I mean at least not yet... I'm not sure where this is all going. I mean he is a gorgeous, nice guy who has a wonderful personality. And he is guy who is kind and caring and genuinely likes me for me... But how do I know if he is the one??" "Don't worry I'm sure you'll know if Jack's the one you're meant to be with or not. And if he's not then I'm sure the one will be just around the corner. " "That's easy for you to say Jo, you've already found your true love." Joey blushed with remembrance at Jen's words. Yet just as she could not then, she could not now deny the truth in Jen's words. Which was why dinner was always such a marathon. Dawson, who had actually turned out to be a relatively decent guy except for the fact that he did not live in reality, would possessively try to exclude Joey from interacting with anyone else besides Dawson. While Abby did her best interpretation of a slut to get Pacey's attention. Jack and Jen sat watching the entire events in mirth while Andie tried to spread her perkiness around; a dismal failure without the aid of Andie's powers. So here she was waiting on the beach for Pacey. They hardly ever had any chance to talk or simply be in each other's company whenever the rest of the group was around. So for the past months they had started a ritual of sorts, meeting on the beach at night time where they spend hours talking and really getting to know one another.
"I thought it might be a good idea. I mean we hardly ever get time to talk." "We talk all the time Pacey. I don't think it is possible for us to function without talking." "Yes but there's always other people around. We never get the time to talk when it's just the two of us." Joey smiled in surprised. Silently pleased that Pacey wanted to spend quality time with her alone. "So what do you want to talk about?" "Anything you want. Anything you want."
"So you're saying you did what?!?" "It wasn't my fault!! Well not entirely. I mean Doug was being so annoying and Will Krudski and I thought it would be a good idea to..." "Get your own back?" "Exactly. I mean how else would Doug learn the importance of justice. Besides it's not my fault that the frog decided to jump into Doug's pants!" Joey giggled hysterically, "And it happened in front of the whole court?" "Yep. Of course me and Will got the biggest spanking of a lifetime for that little prank. Not that they could prove we were guilty. I still don't understand the logic of it all." "But you were guilty Pacey." "So? They never proved it." Joey shook her head in mock exasperation then erupted into another fit of giggles. "I love to hear you laugh Potter." There was a soft smile on Pacey's face. "Ooooh was that a compliment? A Witter giving a Potter a compliment. Will wonders never cease?" "Nope. No compliment there." But Pacey's smile contradicted his words.
"So do you know how all of this started?" "What? A Potter and a Witter together on the beach without bloodshed? Seretus and Atiivar united in the form of its two youngest children?" "No I know how all of this started you doofus. I'm talking about the wars between Seretus and Atiivar. How did all of that start? Everyone I've ever asked has always been a little fuzzy on the facts." "Yeah I know what you mean. It probably started over some trifle, petty little thing. Probably due to Potters' innate ability to be stubborn." "Hey! What about the Witters' innate ability to be incredibly annoying?" "Anyway as I was saying, it probably started over some minor thing and after awhile just grew from there. Then years passed and Seretus and Atiivar got used to hating each other. Got used to the idea of being mortal enemies and never once questioned it. Never realising the potential they had to be much more than enemies." "Yeah... I wonder what it would have been like if Atiivar and Seretus had not been at war. I mean we would have probably known each other as children, played together - what with our two kingdoms so close to one another." "You probably would have hated me as a child." "Why do you say that?" "I would have chased you around the gardens and courtyards. I would have teased you mercilessly and I would have pulled you pigtails." "Then I would have given back as good as I got. I'd push you." "You and me Potter we would have had heaps of fights when we were kids. Verbal and physical." "So are you going to tell me why you would have bullied poor little Joey Potter?" "Truthfully? Because I would have been a little boy. A little boy who didn't know any better. A little boy who didn't know how to show a girl he had the biggest crush on her and picked on her instead just so she would show him some attention." "So the little girl never knew how the boy felt?" "Nope never. And he would grow up hiding his crush with the pretense of dislike for her." "But one day the little girl would grow up." "Oh?" "Yeah...one day the little girl would grow up and she'd become a woman. And then..then everything would change." And things were changing. Something was happening between her and Pacey that Joey could not deny. Something that went beyond her initial attraction for him. Oddly enough Gilk had seemed to sense that something might be going on and had expressed much concern about the meetings, initially.
*They are just meetings.* *Secret meetings.* *Harmless meetings. We just sit and talk, nothing more.* However after attending several of Joey's meeting with Pacey, some known to Joey and other times unknown, Gilk was convinced of the meetings' platonic nature and had ceased to worry. So now she was here alone watching as Pacey crossed the sandy plains that separated the two of them. "Hey." "Hey." "Dinner was eventful wasn't it?" "Isn't it always." They shared a laugh then fell into a comfortable silence. Joey stared up at the moon which was brilliant in its crescent gown and wondered idly how many lovers had previously met under such a moon. Lovers. I love him. She looked into his eyes and everything changed.
Something was reflected in her eyes. Something which had previously been hidden but was now revealed in full-blown hours. Pacey leaned forward caressing her hair. "Our first kiss was on a beach." "First kiss? You do know that the use of the word first implies that there will be more than one kiss." He moved his mouth so that it was almost touching her lips and whispered, "Oh there will be more, many more..." then closed the tiny gap between his lips and Joey's. It was a sweet kiss, a slight brush of his lips across hers - so faint that she could barely feel it. Yet her soul felt the kiss, a kiss that sent tingles through her whole body and left an imprint on her heart. It was an introductory kiss, perfect in its purpose. And then it was over. Joey and Pacey stared at each other, unconsciously breathing in sync. No words were exchanged. No words were needed. This time when they kissed it was full and hard, passion unleashed and relentless. Their lips acknowledged the ancient claim of rights - possessive and primitive - they belonged. He sucked on her lower lip before moving to the hollow of her neck as he had done before. Only this time Pacey did not stop there. His lips trailed from her neck down to her collarbone biting and sucking alternately. Joey was not idle. Her hands moved to pull Pacey's shirt out from his pants and with the task finished her hands went under, revelling in the feel of his skin but soon that was too constraining. Buttons flew open and Joey's fingers danced up to Pacey's shoulders, lightly massaging his muscles before pushing the shirt down and off his body. The shirt fell onto the sand unnoticed. Still sucking on her skin, Pacey's lips moved from her collarbone down to the valley of her chest. His hands moved to the back undoing the strings that held her dress together, until the garment was a loose material covering Joey's body. He gently slid the clothes of her so that Joey stood before him flushed and naked with a pool of crimson at her feet. She's so beautiful. He kissed her again and with their lips joined he moved them down onto the sand. Again Pacey's mouth travelled this time finding home on Joey's left breast. He suckled hard as his hand played with her right nipple teasing it to hardness. Joey gasped at the sensations, relishing the foreign experience. She repositioned her body, coaxing Pacey's mouth back onto hers - even as both their hands familiarised themselves with the other's body. She could feel his hardness on top of her and Joey squirmed as a trickle of wetness seeped out of her. "Pacey..please..." Her hands were already playing with the waistband of his trousers. He moved briefly away and Joey mewed a protest. Swiftly he removed all material barriers and moved back to Joey. His hand rubbed her clit and Joey moaned a deep, guttural sound. Pacey placed a finger in and found only wetness. He looked into her eyes for any protest and saw instead desperate urgency and encouragement. She felt him slide into her carefully and gently, their eyes still locked. Her muscles unconsciously tensed and she tried to relax. Pacey sensing her inexperience waited giving her time to adjust before delving further in again. He could feel her barrier and knew that pain was inevitable yet her eyes and her hips only urged him to move forward. The barrier broke. Joey cried in pain and Pacey tried to remain as still as possible. Their eyes locked again and in that moment Joey could see Pacey - she could see inside him, his soul, his spirit - Pacey could see Joey - all that she was and all that she ever would be. Then he was moving, in and out, creating a pleasurable rhythm. Joey caught on and soon her hips were arching to meet his in a beat only the two of them could hear. The sensations kept building, extending from one another and the soft moans emitted from Joey were easily becoming louder. Pacey in turn groaned in response knowing that he was nearing his threshold. She felt herself explode, her screams filling the night sky and was soon joined by Pacey as he let go of the last remnants of control.
Pacey was drowning in a liquid Joey. He could feel her arms around him. She was everywhere. She was literally the air, the grass, the trees everything. Somehow everything in this world had changed form, evolving into Joey. He could feel her, breathe her and yet somehow she remained elusive and untouchable. It was as if she was dissolving - becoming less and less the woman he loved and more and more an ethereal entity he could not reach. The animals seemed to watch impassively acting almost like impervious barriers between Pacey and Joey. There was one animal that stood out, a tawny wolf who seemed apart from the other animals. Pacey turned beseechingly asking the wolf for help but they were both helpless creatures, unable to help anyone let alone Joey or each other. And then Pacey was drowning again, drowning in Joey.....yet he couldn't even touch her or feel her anymore.... "No!" his cry was whispered but tormented. Pacey's body startled forward tense with dread. A hand grasped his arm and tightened its grip holding him back. He turned his to see his attacker only to see Joey who while still asleep had unconsciously reached out for him. Man that dream was too intense. Surreal and at the same time too real. Hell, I can still feel the liquid. It was then that Pacey realised it was the ocean lapping at his feet. High tide had arrived. He realised with dismay that the white object bobbing close to the horizon was in fact his shirt and that Joey's dress was about to follow the shirt's lead. "Joey, honey...wake up.." "Ummm...huh?" Joey's eyes were slit from sleepiness creating a sexy image to behold. "We have to head back...and I have to go chase your dress..." She watched as her lover got up and raced into the ocean after her gown and smiled. Lover. Pacey was her lover. They had made love. Joey got up to meet him as Pacey emerged from the water holding her soaking wet dress triumphantly. "I got it!!!" "Yes you did..." and she moved to kiss him, her breasts brushing his bare chest with the feel of water lapping to and fro at their feet. "Jo..." Pacey groaned, "We really have to get back." He could feel himself hardening again and took a small step back, knowing that if they could continued like this they might never leave the beach. Understanding his actions Joey kissed him one more time and then took a step back herself and began to get dressed without saying a word. |
