FRIENDSHIPS - PART 3

The club was crowded and hundreds of people were densely packed together. They had been going at it all night - drinking, dancing and drinking some more. Jen and Joey were living it up, teasing the countless males that flocked to their side, not giving a d/amn about anyone or anything. The only thing that mattered was that the alcohol was constantly flowing and the music never stopped. It was only around 1am which meant the night had only just begun. The music was loud and the beat compelling. They danced together, Jen's red dress swirling around and seductively inching up her thigh receiving appreciative glances and whistles. Joey swung around her arms in the air, her hips making little circular movements as her top rode up her midriff. Tendrils of hair fell leaving adorable curls hanging loosely around her face and sweat was beginning to trickle. Both Jen and Joey constantly switched partners more often than the music changed before deciding to retire momentarily and head for the bar.

"So what's good here?" Joey inquired.

"Anything and everything. They have your normal beer and shots and then there's a whole array of cocktails to choose from." Jen answered.

The bartender spoke up as he overheard the ladies' conversation. "Why not try our new range of alcoholic slushies? They're fruity and delicious."

Joey and Jen looked and one another and shrugged.

"Why not."

The bartender beamed. "And for you two lovely ladies...I have the perfect drink. They're on the house."

He produced two dark purple, almost black looking drinks which Joey and Jen took and sipped.

"Oh my gawd...this is delicious!" Joey exclaimed

"Absolutely scrumptious." Jen agreed, "What are they called?"

A huge grin spread over the bartender's face as he winked, "Black Widows."

Jen laughed while Joey shook her head and the two girls moved to find a table. As soon as they were settled they immediately found themselves surrounded by amorous suitors. Joey swore the bartender was watching and laughing. They sipped at their Black Widows- a current flavoured alcohol slushie - while their bodies still swayed to the music and the gentleman around them offered to buy them another round.

Pacey had no intention of going out but less than an hour after Joey and Jen had left Jack had appeared saying 'if the girls got to have a night out, then us guys should have one too'. They had gone to bar for dinner and then afterwards Jack had suggested going to a new place called Platinum.

"It's a great place Pacey. Plenty of hot chicks for you and plenty of hot guys for me."

"I'm not really dressed for it." Pacey voiced doubtfully.

"Pacey, the way you look in those jeans and that shirt...well let's just say you'll pass. You'll definitely pass. In fact I particularly love the way those tight fitting dark blue denim jeans fit ever so snug around your butt. And the blue shirt you're wearing hands tight in just all the right places while still looking loose and casual. Not to mention the blue just brings out the intense colour of your eyes perfectly."

"You're not hitting on me are you McPhee?"

"Well it wouldn't be the first time I've done it."

"Jack!"

"And I wouldn't be the first McPhee either."

Pacey jokingly pushed Jack away and Jack quickly put on a hurt expression before the two men broke out into laughter.

"So can we go Pacey?? Pretty, pretty please Pacey!!"

Jack stood before him, head slightly hanging with his eyes wide open - innocent and pleading.

"You've been hanging around Joey way too much." Pacey grumbled. "You're doing her face. You know I can't resist that face."

"That's why I took lessons! So let's go Witter, time's a wasting."

"So what do you think of the place?" Jen yelled.

"It's great. I haven't had this much fun since...well since the last time we did this!" Joey yelled back.

"A girls' night out is exactly what we both needed. Time to unwind and let loose. Dance the night away, get drunk as h/ell and hopefully get laid by some amazingly handsome and f/uckable stranger."

"I thought you said Pacey was the only guy I should be with?" Joey could not help but quip.

"I was talking about myself!!! Not you Joey! But now that you mention it..maybe you might get drunk enough that you'll finally come to your senses and go home and screw our dear friend Pacey senseless."

Before Joey could reply a bunch of young girls nearby, probably still in college, squealed in delight.

"Oh my gawd!! Major babe at 9 o'clock!! Heading our way!!"

Joey and Jen turned instinctively to check out the so called hottie the girls were referring to. A bold, brash red head from the group made her way towards the stranger enticing him to dance. Jen raised an eyebrow.

"I have to admit the red head's got taste, the guy is hot!"

"She's too young for him." Joey noted.

"Yeah and when it comes to hormones I doubt any of that matters."

Joey frowned disapprovingly. "The girl looks like she would do a complete stranger."

"I think that's the whole point Joey."

"She isn't his type."

"And you can tell this by..oh what...a few seconds of a glance?"

Joey made a face at Jen as the red head and the 'hottie' neared their spot.

The club was huge and packed with an unbelievable quantity of people. Outside there was a line so long Pacey had thought it would have been impossible for them to get in. Apparently, however, Jack had some contacts and they virtually skipped the entire line and simply walked straight in. Upon arrival Jack was flocked by various men and women - people he obviously knew. It was rather amusing for Pacey to watch as the women hopelessly flirted with the unaffected Jack. So caught up in his own amusement Pacey did not realise the numerous women (and men) who were desperately trying to gain his attention.

Walking deeper and deeper into the club Jack suggested going to the bar and Pacey followed his lead. During their way Jack was interrupted by a blonde, a brunette, a raven headed seductress and a vivacious red head. Watching as Jack attempted to brush off each woman Pacey did not see where he was going and bumped into a young women.

"Oh I'm so sorry." Pacey apologised profusely.

"It's okay."

"No really I should have been watching where I was going."

"It happens to the best of us. Although...."

"Although?"

"Would you like to dance?"

Not knowing how to say 'no' politely and seeing Jack wrapped up in the attentions of the red head Pacey went and danced with the woman. After the song had finished she invited him to meet his friends and not being able to find Jack, Pacey agreed.

"We're almost here!" The woman said tugging Pacey's hand. "It's this next table!"

But Pacey had already stopped at the table before.

"Pacey."

He knew that voice anywhere. H/ell he knew that body anywhere even as the back was all he could see.

"Joey!! Jen!!"

"What are you doing here?"

From her words Pacey could tell that Joey Potter was not pleased to see him.
