The SNGP National: Lichfield Saturday, 12th January 2002

a report by Save The Newchurch Guinea Pigs Campaign

Over 200 activists arrived in Lichfield on Saturday to demonstrate against the murderous David Hall and Partners. Protesters gathered at Minster Pool and began a highly visual and boisterous march through the city center. Activists were given face masks of Chris, John and David Hall to let every body know exactly which scum we are dealing with!

There were passionate speeches by members of the campaign throughout the day and the infamous dancing guinea pig accompanied the crowd through the streets to an enthusiastic public response.

The local community was as critical of the OTT police presence as the campaigners, especially of their constant, intrusive videoing and 'evidence gathering'. They, like us, know that David Hall and Partners are an intrinsically evil business and many said they were prepared to join the march to accelerate the end of this business. And they did!
At the end of the brilliant racket, the demonstration moved off to the hell hole where the guinea pigs are degraded and tortured. When activists arrived at Darley Oaks, the usual Section 14 had been put in to place, with some farcical date and spelling mistakes included.

In the spirit of the march, the crowd were continuously shouting at the Halls locked in their palace. Some activists managed to outwit the shoddy police force and were running all over the hell holes - at both Darley Oaks and Ivy Bank! It is never very difficult to outwit the witless!

This theme continued on the home demonstrations from 4pm. The home demos are an essential element of any good national and it is up to us to familiarise ourselves with the geography and the law, especially Section 42. There were visits by at least 20 activists in very effective vehicle convoys til the late evening. They visited all the scum; John Wright, Carol Heathcote, Simon Turner, Steven Adams, Chris Moore and May Hudson. Three van loads descended upon John Wright's and the two police present were in an utter frenzy! When their 'back-up' arrived they too lost all control of their senses and decided to arrest one of the protesters under Section 42. She was later released without charge!

Let us never forget that this form of protest is an integral part of any 'democracy' and the paramilitary pretensions of the police should never undermine this basic right. The Halls are obviously clinging to the edge and it is up to us to push them over!
