Northwood Flying Club has three aircraft not only to meet the needs of a growing, expanding club, but to keep a developing pilot challenged and to offer aircraft suitable for a wide variety of cababilities. Having a higher share price than some flying clubs could be seen as a drawback, but it allows relatively small membership numbers to have three aircraft. This helps insure that there is an aircraft available when you would like to fly, and 50 people aren't fighting over one airplane.
Northwood Flying Club is dedicated to keeping flying costs low. The shareholder/owner principal helps keep costs in check. Operating from the Northwood Airport outside the busier, bigger and fuller airports also helps keep costs down. One of the club's primary goals is to povide the lowest hourly flying rates it can. The club has trimmed the fat of flying through a "for profit" business and operates largely by volunteer labor and talent of the shareholders. The club also preforms much of its own maintenance that it can under regulations. We have also added our own fuel tank and supply so we can purchase fuel wholesale. Northwood Flying Club is dedicated to keep well maintained aircraft. Tired of flying less than average airplanes with scratchy radios? We regularly wash, wax, and vacuum our airplanes. All of our aircraft have newer paint, come with headsets, and have good radios. Maintenance squawks are handled quickly and properly. Arrive in an aircraft you can be proud of!
Northwood Flying Club full share and half share options. Have family interested in flying too? If you have an immediate family member (child under 18) interested in flight training too, they may also recieve flight training with little additional cost on the same full share. Only interested in flying one aircraft? A half share can get you involved with the club so you can enjoy the most of the benefits for half the initial price, but with slightly higher hourly rates.
Northwood Flying Club has plans for expansion and improvement. With each additional member, share capital is invested in imroving the capabilites and equipment of our current fleet or saved towards expanding to a larger fleet.
Northwood Flying Club has it's own Flight Instructor. No need to track down a flight instructor. The club has its own, dedicated professional flight instructor who will provide flight instruction at very resonable rates. Instructor Chris Susie, CFI, CFII, Multi, tailwheel rated.
Northwood Flying Club has purchased it's own heated hangar facility. Northwood Flying Club will take posession of it's own heated hangar to house it's aircraft in August of 2005. The hangar is being painted and cleaned now for housing our aircraft and holding club events. Load and climb into a comfortably warm airplane during the winter! Fly year around without the hassle.
