| About Our Chapter |
The
Chicago North Shore alumnae chapter began as Evanston-North Shore in 1921.
A second chapter, which met in the evenings to meet the needs of younger
DG’s, was formed in 1966. The two merged in 1984 and became known as
Chicago North Shore. We are one of seven, Delta Gamma
alumnae chapters in the Chicago area. Our boundaries run from Evanston to
Lake Bluff and west to #294. Our members support Sigma chapter at
Northwestern University and the Eta Mu chapter at Lake Forest College by serving as advisers and on House Corporation.
Our newsletter,
The Anchor Line, is sent to all DG’s living within our area in the fall. It
comes by bulk mail and the return address is Chicago Coordinating Committee
of Delta Gamma. Be sure to look for it in September. Our winter newsletter
goes to current dues paying members and those who have paid dues in the last
year or two. |

DUES UPDATE:
Delta Gamma National Offices (EO) will be sending a separate invoice to
all Delta Gammas (excluding 50 year members) for national dues.
Our local dues of $18.00 are used to fund local activities including our
events with visually impaired children on the North Shore and to allow
us to make donations to Service for Sight and Scholarships to local
collegians. We keep our operating expenses to a bare minimum. NOTE: All 50 year members pay only the local chapter dues of $18. We have four interest groups: bridge, book club, DG’s Dine Out and Anchor Moms ( also a new group for moms with young children. The contact people for these groups are on the officers’ pages. Bridge meets once a month at a members’ home. All levels are welcome. This is friendly bridge!!! Dessert and coffee are served. Each attendee contributes $2 except the high scorer for the evening. At the end of the year a portion of the money goes for a dinner instead of dessert and the rest is donated to charity. Book club meets monthly on a Saturday from 9:30-11:00. Coffee and goodies are served. Discussion begins at 10. DG’s Dine Out meet at different restaurants around the North Shore. See the calendar. |
