| Who We are The Northglenn Elks Lodge was established in 1970 with the help of the Westminster Lodge who sponsored us and helped us become our own Lodge. Our first home was a small building located in EastLake Colorado. From there we moved into a warehouse in Northglenn where we survived a fire and the rebuilding of our home. We then set out to find a building of our own and decided to make the old City Hall building for the City of Northglenn our new home. We are still located there today. The members of our Lodge were mostly blue collar and transformed the old jail, court room and city hall into our Club, Dinning room and Lodge room. Through all of the years the Auxiliary Organization has been a very strong part of us and true to their form, they once again came to our aid when they helped us to pay off the debt on our building in 1999. They have completed helping us to pave the parking lot and install a RV parking area with electrical hook-ups. We have added a patio area with horse shoe pits and 2 stainless steel grills. Our membership as of April 2000 was 536 members, up from 518 the year before. We increased by 27 in 2001 and have continued to increase membership since as we are near 600 members now and we still continue to grow. We are a younger Lodge proud to represent the principles of our Order. Our Ritual teams have placed very high in District competitions and we have been proud to represent our Lodge and District at the State level. We support all Grand Lodge Charities and we also support a few of our own at a Lodge level inluding Comforts of Home (care packages for our overseas military) and the handicapped bowlers to name a few. We work hard, but we also play hard. Our Lodge supports a bowling league and hosts its own tournament and host several events geared towards a younger membership. We try to support a family atmosphere and we have several events a year geared towards the familly. We have several second generation Elk members and we are embarking on our third generation of family members. |
