Dear Players/Parents/Prospective Players and Parents/All Other Site Visitors:
There are a couple off-season items I need to go over.
First of all, I hope everybody is enjoying the great summer we're having and I hope our players are taking advantage of the great lacrosse camps the Balitmore/Annapolis area has to offer. Lacrosse players come from all over the country to attend our camps and you have them in your own backyard... LET'S TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!!! Players, if you need some last minute help finding a camp please write me at the team email address: [email protected]. I will now be checking that account more frequently. Regardless of whether or not you are attending a camp, YOU SHOULD ALL BE RUNNING AND LIFTING WEIGHTS!!!!! The more running and lifting you do now, the better shape you're going to be in come March, the less running you need to do on my watch in March, and the more fun March will be for you and I as we will be able to concentrate on LACROSSE instead of conditioning!!!
Second, I'd like to address the present coaching situation and the coaching situation for next season. As of now, for all intesive purposes, I am the head coach of Northern Lacrosse. Coach Hinchcliffe is still in town but will be moving to Buffalo in early August, as he is expecting his second child around that time. As for next season, things are still unclear. As I understand things - teachers, faculty and other BOE staff are first in line for coaching positions. However, I am poised and excited for my chance to take the reigns of Northern Lacrosse.
Third, I am expecting great things out of next year's team. This starts with team leadership. I will do my part but I can't do it alone. As I don't work at the school, I need a few guys to "step up" and take control when I am not around. This may be on or off the field. Inside or outside of school. I need guys that will lead by example and help their teamates out when they need it. I may be asking a lot but I know I have guys who can handle it.
