ORANGEVILLE - In a game that featured two of the areas leading rushers Dakotas Even Dornick and Orangevilles Riley Kubatzke it was their teammates who made the majority of the big plays. On the opening kickoff Kubatzke fumbled and Dakotas Seth Rumage was there to pick it up. Dakota took advantage of the turnover with 10:19 left in the first quarter when Dornick took it in from two yards out. Austin Oberbruner then added the two-point conversion on a quarterback keeper to put Dakota up 8-0. It was an unexpected turnover but hey we get a fumble drive it down for a touchdown and shift the momentum into our favor, Oberbruner said. After having to punt it back to Dakota, Orangeville came up with a big four down stop. Then Trace Hanson hooked up with Austin Cramer for a sixty-four yard touchdown pass. Kubatzke then took the two-point conversion in to tie the score up at eight with 4:41 left in the first quarter. Give the kids the credit in the past after that opening fumble and score against a team this good the game would have been over, Orangeville head coach Toby Golembiewski said. Dakota would then answer back on the ensuing possession moving the ball down the field and converting on a couple fourth downs. Wade Dettman capped the drive with a one-yard touchdown run with 10:06 left in the second quarter. Tommy Bowers then ran in the two-point conversion to make to score 16-8 Dakota.
