My mother (Alex's Grandma), is an extrordinary woman, who raised five children of her own, and is grandmother to seven others. At the age of 74, when most people her age are enjoying their retirement, she continues to work her two parttime jobs, in the community. Despite all of her ailments, and the pain she suffers due to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, she manages to wake up each and every day, ready to complete her tasks. Tired and weak from her busy days, her motivation to please her family and others, remains strong. |

Mom never really developed many hobbies to speak of, though, in her younger years, when she had time to spare, she piddled with crocheting, knitting, and other sewing hobbies. I can remember when I was younger, she would occasionally make dresses or other simple outfits for my sister and I. |

As cliche as it sounds, her grandchildren are the apples of her eye, and she assumes each and every opportunity to dote on them, when opportunity permits. She loves them all equally, and never shows favoratism, towards one or the other. There is always enough TLC to go around, at grandma's house. |

Some of Mom's favorite things to do, are bird watching, listening to Daniel O'Donnell's music on her CD's, watching the Champion Dog Shows on TV, flower gardening, and spending time with her family. She believes deeply in the "power of prayer", and I think that is how she has been able to accomplish as much as she has, in life. |
