Mary
Wooley was born in County Wicklow, Ireland on February 14, 1795. She
married Samuel Crutchfield had her first two children while still in Nottingham,
England. They came to Canada about 1823 and settled on the south shore
of the St. Lawrence River in Ormstown, Quebec. While there, they had another
six children. All eight children were:

They lived in a log house on
97 acres of land which produced wool, flannel, wheat, barley, oats, peas
and potatoes. It is unknown exactly when Samuel and Mary Crutchfield passed
away, but the last mention of them was in 1871 census, listing him as a
pensioner, age 76 and she at age 75. |
