| Sara
Crutchfield was born on January 5, 1835 at Ormstown, Quebec. She was
the sixth child of Samuel Crutchfield and Mary Wooley, who originally came
from Nottingham, England. Samuel and Mary had their first two children
in Nottingham before emigrating to Canada in about 1823. Sara was married
to John Fennell on September 12, 1854 at Huntingdon, Quebec. They
farmed along side John's brother, William on 72 acres of land. Their 1
1/2 story frame house was called "Maple Lane" and is still occupied by
the Fennell family.
They harvested potatoes, hay, oats, peas, apples, maple sugar, honey, wool and butter from the farm. Sara ahd John had seven children:
