Frederick
George Carroll was the only child born to Frederick W. Carroll and
Mary Ann Tooley. Born on July 27th, 1883, Fredrick George went to live
with his aunt, Martha Rutty-Scott when he was quite young after his father
lost the family dairy and left his wife and young son. Frederick George
was an accomplished pianist and played Albert Hall when he was only four;
because he was so small, his teacher worked the pedals of the piano for
him. He was born and raised in London, England, but moved to Canada shortly
after the death of his mother Mary in 1906. He came west and tried his
hand at farming, auto mechanics and playing the piano at silent movie houses.
On December 23, 1915, he married Cora Violet Quinton and they had nine
children:

from Semans, Saskatchewan after Harriet was born. Fred became a travelling
salesman for awhile, and the family also tried farming again for a short
time. Upon returning back to Winnipeg from a summer of farming, Fred tried
his hand at numerous jobs until his retirement in 1956.That same year,
his wife, Cora passed away. Frederick lived two more years, and passed
away on March 17th, 1958 at age 75.
