Crayton Middle school teacher faces sex charge

According to deputies, Craft exchanged numerous text messages with the girl Sept. 26 before he picked her up at her home and took her back to the apartment. It’s unclear whether the pair had contact before that, authorities said.
The girl did not provide the name of the networking site, authorities said.
She went with Craft — who is divorced — after meeting him even though his messages said he was 16, authorities said.
The girl said she told him she was 15, authorities said. In South Carolina, one must be 16 to Sex Nudex consent legally to sex.
She told her mother she was going out for a while, and her family did not ask what she planned to do, deputies said.

But the board determined that if someone might be an immediate danger to students, certification could be suspended immediately so the accused could not teach until a criminal case is resolved.
