Norfolk and Norwich Terriers... are among the smallest of the terriers and but two of the many breeds of terriers that originated in Great Britain in the nineteenth century. For most of their history, both the drop-eared and prick-eared varieties were considered Norwich terriers. About 25 years ago, the American Kennel Club followed the example of European clubs by declaring that the drop-eared dogs are Norfolks and the prick-eared dogs are Norwiches.
