SUMMER 2003 Page-3

This is the day most everyone takes off fishing - looking for the big one! Lynn and Andrea have never been fishing in Alaska. It will be a long boat trip, as they go about 20 miles out.

Lynn hangs one and Grandpa helps with the battle to bring it in.

Lynn with her first Salmon - Steve hepled her take it off the hook. She didn't want to touch it, and I can't say as I blame her!

Robert with the Halibut he caught.

It was a long ride back to shore and the water became rough. So it was slow going. Lynn was tired and wanted to nap on the way, but it was not a very restful sleep.

Saturday evening and we are having hamburgers cooked on the grill. Steve does delicious food on the grill. While he was cooking, the rest were busy getting things set up on the picnic table.
We had met a couple from out of state, who where traveling around Alaska and ask them to join us for supper. They agreed and we enjoyed visiting with them around the campfire.

Everyone relaxing after we had supper.

Here a few close up photos - -

Robert and Andrea, munching potato chips.

Later in the evening people decided to do "smoors" an all time favorite when we are out camping.

Here are Lynn and Andrea and looks as if they are having a great time.

The next day, only the men went fishing. The ladies stayed in camp and went shopping and enjoyed a lazy day. Later it was time to break camp and head for Anchorage.
It had been a wondeful, relaxing weekend and we were blessed with lovely weather.

Here is the inside of the motor home. Andrea is driving and Lynn was busy reading. This left Robert to enjoy the view and snap a few photos.

Finally here is Grandma and Grandpa bringing up the rear. Steve and family were leading this little convoy.
