14th Annual Tulley Show in Merrimack, NH |
This year, due to some early scheduling
conflicts, we tried a new date for our
annual event and it seemed to work out
very well. The weather was nice, not too hot,
and as usual the grounds at
Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack were beautiful. Many
thanks to Carla Reardon at A-B
for her help in co-ordinating the show.
When all the registrations were tallied, we had 113 Pontiacs, GMC’s, and Buicks
on the field. Sadly, no Oaklands made the trek to Merrimack this year.
The crew got there early (but not as early as Charlie Huntington) and enjoyed
coffee and donuts as we set up the field. We had a great turnout of volunteers
this
year who ensured things went smoothly during the entire show. Burt & Mary
Riley
plus Mary Plante took over at registration this year, filling in for the
missing team
of Sue, Don, and Karg. They did a fantastic job!
Even though registration started at eight, we had a few folks patiently

waiting for their class to be set up just after seven o’clock—those Buick guys like to get up early! Once classes were set up, the cars began rolling in at a steady pace until the official cut off time at noon. We had several cars we had not seen previously such as the Buick “woody” wagon plus some new entries in the modified classes we had not seen before. One gentleman brought |

a pristine 1953 GMC Hyrdra-Matic truck and another a
late model Caballero (the GMC equivalent to the El Camino). |
