| park itself for the coaster event. There were around a hundred or so cars by the time everyone was in place. The response was great enough that a second area was set up to accommodate the overflow from the original show area. These folks set up their own music, mingled about, made food runs, and also obviously were having a great time! The cars themselves represented many era’s, from a very early rod, through a clean, stock, Studebaker Lark, through the musclecar era and into the low rider scene. When was the last time you saw a really clean Superbird, or a ‘69 Corvette sporting a luggage rack? I believe the only kit car present was a Cobra, the rest were the real deal. Like our own show, it lacked a swap meet, but I don’t know where they would have been able to set one up. I don’t even know if there were trophies, most of the folks seem to come just to enjoy themselves and the other cars. It provides for a much more relaxed atmosphere plus I don’t think there was a single “trailer queen” in the crowd. Afterwards, I think a lot of them were setting off on a covered bridge tour. I don’t remember the last time I went to a show that was this laid back. It’s a shame most folks don’t seem to be able to get beyond the competition aspect and get back to enjoying their cars like the people at this event! Enjoy the included photos! |
