Direct, unbiased opinions from those who use SocialService.com....

... I do find that socialservice.com is sometimes good."

A great on-line source for us has been www.socialservice.com.  It's
really cheap and brings in great responses, at a quality level.

I feel like we got more from Monster.com, but I don't have any hard evidence to back that up.

I do feel strongly about posting on that site, however, because I would like it to become a good place to post.

We get some responses from this listing. A more successful source for us
generally (for positions at all levels) is Opportunity NOCs.

I received more responses from newspaper ads.

Using socialservice.com for the first time.  I've heard that
other social service agencies use it but I haven't gotten a hit off of it yet myself.  I have a lot of responses from careerbuilder.com and some from idealist.org.  I'm not getting much of a response to my LCSW social work position.

We've used it for five years I believe. It's very good. We've hired from it many times, but only people local to us.

We actually do quite well with this site for our Child Care Counselor
positions - we use it almost exclusively for this purpose.  We don't do very well with the Social Worker positions though and have not hired anyone from an ad here.

It has been great.  I have about 40 applications from this site and two others that I used.

This is the first time I have advertised on the site, and so far, I am
pleased with the response.  Especially since the cost to advertise is so
reasonable.  At this point, I would happily recommend the use of the site.  (We are a non-profit agency also)

I have had very good success with this listing.  It's not expensive, and I have gotten more replies from it than when I placed an ad in the LA times.

If you have advertised for Social Workers, you will know it is a very
difficult position to fill.  I have not been very successful with any
site. Most often our positions are filled by word-of-mouth.

I would recommend: 1.opportunitynocs.org, 2.socialservice.com, 3.craigslist.com(free for non-profits) and 4. nonprofitoyster.com
All great sources for non-profits

Yes I have received some impressive feedback around the U.S. and some
from Canada.

We have not had any luck with socialservice.com so I do not recommend
them.

I have used SocialService.com exclusively for over three years now.
I have found that SocialService.com has been very productive in meeting my current personnel needs.  I am able to place an ad that is very descriptive/specific without it being cost prohibitive. This has generated more hits as opposed to a generic LA Times ad (e.g.
social worker F/T with FFA, Full benefits, comp salary).  The applicants are given an opportunity to learn about the agency prior to applying. A good thing.

I find better response from Socialservice.com. (better than nonprofitoyster.com)

Thanks for sending the list of sites. A few of these I have used and agree that they are effective. Those include SocialService.com and SocialWork.com.
