I just recently posted an ad over the magazine. The response has been favorable. I am pleased with the results, but receive just as many favorable inquiries over the NASW newsletter that is published nationwide.
We ran the ad in four consecutive publications. So far, we don't know if we've gotten anything from the ads we ran in SocialWorkToday. The reason I say we don't know if that applicants often don't specify how they heard about us, even though we encourage them to do so in the ad. But so far, no applicant has mentioned them. We're hoping that because it's in a magazine format, that perhaps the shelf life may still bring in someone.
Our ad rep at SocialWorkToday was very helpful without being too pushy, so I give them thumbs up in the customer service department. But unfortunately we've seen no "bang for our buck." Luckily they were very reasonable priced.
We received a great response from those ads.
I have had a few responses but no direct hires from advertisements placed in Social Work Today.
Unfortunately, the ad that you saw for us in Social Work today was the first one that I have run. From what I've seen so far, I don't think there has been much response. I'm sure you're aware of the shortages in qualified social workers, and that makes for challenging recruiting. I don't know of any other resources at this time, although I do find that socialservice.com is sometimes good.
This was my first experience with Social Work Today and unfortunately I do not have a good tracking system to determine how many applicants I received form this ad in particular. I do not know much about what the best sources are as I find the paper my most reliable source, but I do think that Social Work Today appears to be a well put together publication.
I have used Social Work Today and Careerbuilder. With some success.
