Marriage is a universal joining of a man and woman who have chosen to commit themselves to each other and start a family together. Regardless of country and culture, the wedding is traditionally a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the event with a formal ceremony, followed by a party.
The steps of the Thai ceremony differ from province to province, but will normally include an exchange of various things to represent their honour, trust, respect and love for each other, which will last for the rest of their lives.
As well as an exchange of spoken vows, there is also an exchange of rings, which will act as a reminder for them to keep their promise. Wedding celebrations are the longest surviving human ritual, which not only unite the man, woman and their families, but also link them to the eternal traditions that have been passed down through the generations.
The traditions for the Thai Wedding differ both regionally and locally, but the most commonly adhered to custom for Central Thailand is as follows:

                  Khan Makk procession
Barring the Groom from approaching the Bride
                  The Engagement
                  Counting the dowry
                  Water pouring
                  Paying respects to the Elders
                  The nuptial bed
