Game 1: In their first USA Cup game on Monday, the Nomads' tied 0-0 with KC Bella Futura from Kansas City, Missouri. Later that afternoon the Nomads' host team, Keliix Intra SC, took them on a tour of Minneapolis, followed by a picnic. Coach Sue, Saja, Nicole, Jennifer, and Kristen were interviewed live by CBS very early Monday morning.
Game 2: The Nomads lost 4-1 to the Coon Rapids Surge Tuesday morning. Kelsey scored the Nomads' goal.
Game 3: The girls lost 2-1 to Wings SC United Tuesday evening. Kayla scored.
Game 4: The RSYA Warheads beat the Nomads 1-0. The Nomads will continue play in the single elimination "B" playoff bracket tomorrow. Wednesday night the girls attended the USA Women's game vs. Australia. The US team won 3-1. In the game, Mia Hamm scored her 150th career goal.
�B� Playoff Game 1: The Nomads beat the North Pole Cyclones (from Alaska) 1-0. Rawan scored the goal.
�B� Playoff Game 2: The Nomads lost to WBLSC Fusion in the second round of the "B" playoff and were eliminated from the tournament. The score was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation, so the teams played two five-minute overtime periods. After overtime, the game was still scoreless. A shoot-out was held to break the tie. Both teams took five shots from the penalty mark and each made 3 of 5, so they were still tied. On the next two shots the Nomads didn�t score, but the Fusion made one of two to win the game. The Fusion went on to win the "B" playoff.
So, the tournament is over for the Nomads, but they are still planning to play at least 3 friendly (non-tournament) games over the next few days. They attended a tournament-sponsored dance Friday night and will spend most of Saturday at the Mall of America.
