GAME HIGHLIGHTS & NEWS
USA Cup Weekend Tournament (July 16-18):
Game 1: The Nomads won their first game 3-2 vs. Grand Forks SC from North Dakota. Kayla scored the first and third goals; Jennifer scored the second. The Nomads were up 3-0 before their opponents scored twice in the last 10 minutes.
Game 2: The Nomads lost their second game on Friday 4-0 to the Moorhead SC Wildcats. Each team in their group has now lost one game, so the third game will determine which teams continue into the next round. The Nomads' third game will be Saturday at 9:15 am Minneapolis time (5:15 pm Dhahran time). They will play the Green Bay Lightning SC-K.
Game 3: The Nomads outscored the Green Bay Lightning SC-K from Wisconsin 1-0 to win their third game. Rawan scored the only goal in the first half; Kelsey got the assist. They now advance into the single elimination playoff bracket. Their next game will be at 4:20 pm Minnesota time, or 12:20 am KSA time.
Game 4 (quarterfinals): The ASC Invasion from Wisconsin defeated the Nomads5-0 in the quarterfinal round. The Invasion have now won all four of their games by a combined score of 17-0. The Nomads will have a day off before beginning play in the main USA Cup Tournament on Monday.
