Backed by an extraordinary start from Larry Walker, the O'Men led for the first eight weeks in '97, but BatBold used a final-month barrage from Barry Bonds (47A) and squeezed out a 2.5-point win in the league's closest race ever, giving BatBold their first NF league title. UPDATED OWNERS LIST Nothing really new here, but it's good filler. You can click here for an updated No Fehr League owners list, complete with hometown and the league each owner joined the league. DID YOU KNOW... Before changing their name in 1996, BatBold was known as Mr. Baseball...this was the first year any team that drafted Bonds captured the championship...the final Fehrless Report newsletter was printed and mailed out in October 1997 (the headline read, "BatBold Ends Oriole's Reign")...the O'Men led for 12 of the season's 26 weeks, but never again after week 17. NF HISTORY: OWNER ROLL CALL Click here for the list of every league owner/team dating back to the inaugural season in 1991. THE YEAR IN REVIEW... Among the notable events: Robb travels from back east to attend the draft in San Diego...the league prepares for Milwaukee's move to the NL in 1998...Reggie Sanders goes for $38 in the draft (Oriole)...Late-season controversy ends with O'Men receiving free agents Wilson Alvarez and Roberto Hernandez, while Tim gets McGwire after he's dealt from the A's to the Cardinals.
