Where in the World Is Lady Paris? |

The castle at Kallista was in an uproar. Lady Paris, after having a beautiful litter of puppies, had decided to move out on her own. Sometimes at the castle, the corgis decided to do this. It always made the Emperor and the Lady-In-Waiting very sad, but they understood that sometimes these things happen. Paris's little son, Rumor, also called RooRoo, was oblivious to the preparations, as he played with his little toy trucks in the garden. The Princess packed and repacked for Paris. Items were placed in a trunk, taken out, rearranged, taken out, some disposed of, some new things added, the trunk closed and locked. Then it was all done again. It was always a good time in life to dispose of worn out toys and bones, and a large box was filled for the homeless corgis at Goodwill. And of course, everyone had a going away gift for Lady Paris, a trinket, a photo, a small box with macaroni glued all over it. The last came from RooRoo, who had worked on it for many hours. He had placed a lock of his baby hair and a baby tooth inside for her to remember him by. As the Lady-In-Waiting drove away, all the corgi stood at the fence and waved and blew kisses. Cheveu, QOATFITU, cried and was comforted by her brother (and Paris's brother, too!), Duncan. They raced down the length of the fence, calling "Good bye!" and "Write us soon!" and "Da Boss Bless You!". Lady Paris looked out the window for a long time, thinking. Topaz had accompanied her on her journey, but she did not feel like talking to her right now. Part of her was very sad, but part was very excited and looking forward to her new life. Not many people had the honor of receiving a Royal Corgi from Kallista. But this was a special home with a special need and very big footprints to fill. Lady Paris had immediately applied for the job as soon as it was available. She hoped she was up to the task, but having a litter had taught her organizational skills and patience, and living within a pack had taught her to get along with everyone and to share equally. However, she was still nervous. It was a huge job and she hoped that she was up to it. In a few hours, they were at the hotel. They walked around on the grass for a while and sniffed the lovely smells that were wafting out of the restaurant next door. The grass was clean and cool and then they all took a nap on the king sized bed in the room. The next morning arrived all too soon. The Lady-In-Waiting got up and got ready, and took the two girls out for a stroll. Then they had to wait. They watched TV and talked of happy times together. The Lady-In-Waiting shed a few tears and Topaz solicited face cleanings from Lady Paris, as a mark of her favor and high honor. The Lady Paris complied with these requests. Then she left a nice amount of hair on the pleasant recliner in the room for the next businessman who stayed there. A knock came on the door. The new part of the journey was about to begin! The Lady-In-Waiting let in SueMom, who would take Paris to her next destination on her trip. SueMom and RussDad seemed very nice, kind and gentle, and Lady Paris felt safe with them. She met Divot and Katie and tried hard to be gracious to the strange new corgis she had never seen before. After a hug and a tear or two, Lady Paris was placed in the Big Old Suburban and was soon on her way to points further South. To be continued by SueMom...... |
