ARS GRATIA ARTIS

Interessantissimo sito in italiano dedicato ai dischi "sfuggiti" alla critica cosiddetta ufficiale, con spunti riflessivi originali e intelligenti. Eccellente sito, andateci subito!

THE BITYEARS' HOMEPAGE

Homepage of Joel's (my) band - lots of mp3s are up for download. Motto: Fun is better than being too serious. We DO have ambitions, though, but we're young and unexperienced! Which hopefully means that we'll improve! Check back on a quite regular basis, and you'll find new songs there.

DANIEL'S DEMO SITE

Home of ex-SU Daniel; this is where he puts up some of his songs. You BETTER check it out, stuff like "The Drapes" would make it on any "Love Over Gold" or "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits! He has a GREAT voice, and sure as hell a *notable* songwriting skill.

D.F.A.

DFA is a fantastic italian prog band who plays great music, tasteful rock with some strong jazz elements (sometimes they sound like a fusion band) but also with a solid prog background. The comparison with Gentle giant is obvious but, believe me, surely deserved: the great technical ability, the sixth-sense for complex but not involved arrangements, the absolute lack of self-indulgence are only few of their features. An underrated band that deserves the spotlights. In their site you can read some reviews and download some MP3. Visit it now!

HEATHER ANNE'S PINK FLOYD PAGE

An interesting site about Pink Floyd run. It's more a personal page than a reviewing page but it has some very inspired ideas about music. If my style seems too cold for you and you believe that Pink Floyd are the most resonant band you've ever heard, you'll have a really good time with this site.

JOHN NELSON'S BARGAIN BIN ALBUM REVIEWS

Due to John's review policy (only cheap albums) and the small number of reviews featured, we don't include this one in the Major Review Sites page, but given the time, we'll surely have to.

KLAATU'S HOMEPAGE

If you want to know more about Joel's favorite band you can take a look here. There are some short samples if you're interested in how they sound, and some good interviews to read if you're getting really interested.

LISTENING TO YOU

One of the few sites in Italian about the Who, run by Ale. This site is very nice and informative and has a good page with downloads and also a link that allows you to see Moon and Bonahm sharing the drum-chair for "Moby Dick"!). Maybe the site is a bit slow with updates, but it remains the best Italian site about the Who (according to me, sure!).

Visitatelo subito!

TOKAMAKK'S PAGE ON VITAMINIC

Vitaminic is a site that guests MP3s from little bands looking for publicity and success. Most of them are little local bands but some are really good and it's a shame they aren't famous (it' s awful seeing the records companies looking always for artists like B. Spears or Backstreet boys, while there are some really good band to listen to instead). One of these bands are the TOKAMAKK. A pop/rock band (but this definition is a bit weak) influenced by Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, Velvet Underground, Placebo, Verdena (an Italian rock/noise band) and many others. Their style is a weird but charming fusion of pop structures with some interesting incursions in the ground of electronic experimentation (with some excellent noise-making guitar parts that reminds to me the ones of Robert Fripp on "Lark's Tongues In Aspic" for instance), made more precious thanks to a great rhythmic section built on a fast and driving bass and a great drummer (the drummer you'll find on the MP3 was replaced now by better one). However, they also care about melody, experimentation and power. Maybe a hard nut to put your teeth onto, but after a while their charm will surely grow on you. On their page you can download FOR FREE some of their songs. Visit it now!
