The night was cold and stormy as Helena started to twist and turn in her bed. Dreams gripped her and pulled her in deeper. She was ten years old and running through the forest to get away from her brother. The moon was full and shining streaks of light through the trees. Laughter floated around the forest making it seem like a friendly place. They where chasing each other when she heard Jeremy scream out in pain. Her breath caught in her throat as she stopped and started to run towards the scream.
"Jeremy, hold on. I'm coming!"
She ran as fast as her little legs would carry her. She came to a halt when she noticed the figures surrounding her. A dark shadow started to drift towards her. Then she saw the face....
Helena woke up with a scream in her throat. It was the same nightmare that had chased her ever since she was young.
Damn, I hate this town, Helena thought.
Her skin was sweaty and chilled. She sat up and started to hug herself, but something told her to sit perfectly still. Someone was in the room....

Brad sat at the edge of his own bed and rocked himself.
Monster. That's what she is. And she touched me, he kept thinking to himself. He felt dirty. The town was never the same after she left. Not only did she break his heart but the town went into chaos. To this day he still blamed her. Helena, with the golden hair and that slim body of hers. His gut kicked and a flame started in his lower area. He shook his head to get the thoughts out of it. He got up off the bed and started to walk out of the room. His father was standing near the window. In a very quiet voice he started to speak.
"Do you know what this means, Brad?"
Brad stood quietly waiting for him to finish.
"Helena brought him back. I don't know what she was thinking coming back here. She has put us all in danger. Herself even more."
"I know, Dad. We need her to leave," Brad walked up to his father and put his hand on his shoulder. "Do you remember Mrs. O'Malley? Before Helena left she would come to me and talk to me about her dreams. She kept talking about demons, and how they would not leave her alone. Then everything happened. I believe I know what they want."
Mr. Chase stood in silence.
I guess time will tell, he thought to himself. He turned away from the window and patted Brad's shoulder.
"Don't worry about Helena. She'll leave soon enough. Then none of us have to worry."
He retracted his hand and walked to bed, mumbling prayers under his breath, leaving Brad to stare out the window.

Nathaniel sat under Helena's window deciding if he wanted to go in or not. She looked so peaceful. Her golden hair was spread out over her pillow. She started to moan and roll her body back and forth. Concern arose instantly. He climbed over the sill of the window and moved far over to the darkened corner. He wanted to go to her and hold her. Kiss her forehead and tell her everything would be alright. But he knew that it was never going to happen.
He felt the scream before he heard it. It started way down in the middle of his chest as she started to awake. He knew she was dreaming but it did not make him feel better. They where connected. He felt her pain and her sorrow. She rose from the bed and sat perfectly still. That's when he realized that she knew he was there.
