The North Country Men's Pool League
began sometime in the early 1970's. It was
a league comprised of men who liked to get
together on Tuesday evenings and play Billiards.
The game was 8-ball, played with partners.
The League is still going strong, some 30 years later.
However, there have been a few changes.
Women now partake in the League
and are sometimes quite a fierce competition.
The game is still 8-ball, played with partners,
and it is still held on Tuesday evenings.
The League consists of 14 teams playing at
11 different bars throughout Franklin County, New York.
Our season begins the beginning of September
and playoffs are held during May.
Each team is played twice and points are accumulated
throughout the season to determine position.
Matches are a race to 10 winning games.
Much skill is shown and fun is had by all.
