Collectorz
Collectorz is a great website/app for movie collection tracking with many features, such as barcode scanning, wishlists, and IMDb integration. The problem I have with it is it's almost TOO feature-rich. I'm really not a fan of how the UI looks, and there's so much info listed on the pages that it can look very cluttered. My goal is to make a shareable site that's a lot more pleasing to the eye, and that also doesn't require people to make an account in order to view.
Blu-ray.com
As a collector of movies on disc, Blu-ray.com is one of my most used resources. It's great because it has news of existing and upcoming releases, reviews, deal alerts, forums, and even a collection feature of their own. The collection feature, to me, is even clunkier than Collectorz's is, and seems to mostly be an afterthought created to supplement the profiles of their forum's users. I would much prefer to build a version of an online collection that is detached from all the rest of that stuff.
Letterboxd
Letterboxd is a movie diary social network, that allows you to log when you watch movies, rate and review them, and follow/interact with other users doing the same. I am pretty active on Letterboxd, and even have a list on there containing all the movies I own physically, which I can use as a filter when browsing on their site. Similar to the other 2 sites, Letterboxd is most useful if one has an account and spends a lot of time there. My goal with my site is to be a nice-looking showcase someone can browse through, without any extra features getting in the way.
