This year in October I went on a ten-day, two-city, (Kyoto & Tokyo) trip to Japan.  Before I left I was really excited about going since I had seen "Big Bird in Japan" when I was little.  It was also the first "vacation" I had been on in almost two years...
I have to admit that when I got to Japan I did a lot of comparing with Korea since that was where I had been living for close to a year.  In many ways Korea & Japan are very similiar but in a lot of ways they are different too...Japan is cleaner but Korea is cheaper, Japan seems more crowded but Korea is not as modern, etc.  In the end I like them both for different reasons...I like Japan for the nice Buddhist monk I met in Kyoto (pictured) and I like how Japanese businessmen in suits still ride bicycles to work in Ginza...
My pictures of Japan are divided into several different pages...one devoted to Kyoto and the other to Tokyo.  There is not as much text here since I am writing this all from memory and I don't know as much about the history of Japan as I do Korea.
