Once again this is a natural occurance as you spend time communicating with your child. Be suretocover the different kids of texts and discuss the similarities and differences of each type. Point out the title, author, and illustrator on each book you share. Encourage your child to guess what books might be like before reading them based on the cover, the title, etc. Expose him to a variety of types of books.
Proof of this learning can again take the form of journal entries of conversations as well as lists of materials divided into the different types mentioned.
