Suspension Mods and Plans
Right now the suspension is still in the planning/fund raising stages. The goal is to come up with a car that can holds it's own through the twisties and on an autocross course without breaking the bank. A lot of the handling performance will be picked up by taking weight off the car, the rest will have to come from carefully chosen and matched components from junk yards, the aftermarket, and whatever I can fabricate myself.
As parts are added to the car I will be sure to write up reviews as well as how to articles for the install and fabrication of each part. I will also do my best to include a spotters guide for all junk yard parts so that you can pick out the best parts on your next trip.
The Plan
The first thing that will be tackled will be upgrading to a set of Z24 sway bars. In '84 the CS model came with a very small front sway bar and no rear sway. I plan to install the sways with new poly bushings and endlinks for maximum effect.

Step 2 will be to find a set of factory 15x6 steelies(keeping with the sleeper theme). I will wrap them in some 195/60 15 tires to keep the same overall height and gain a little bit of contact patch without messing up my speedometer readings.

Part 3 of the build up will be a bit of work to help reduce deflection and flex in the chassis itself. I will fabricate up a front strut tower brace and rear shock tower brace.

The last step of the suspension build up is gonna take a while to get to since I only plan to take the front end apart once. In the spring I would like to replace the 20 year old stock rubber bushings with a nice set of poly's. while I have everything apart I will be installing a set of lowering springs, performance shocks and struts, and the larger 92+ front brake set up.

The only modification i plan to make to the rear brakes on the car will be taken care of whenever i come across a set of the aluminum drums that were used on a handful of 1st and 2nd gen j-bodies. The most common place to find them seems to be on the Caddy Cimarron.

Someday in the future I would like to take the time to develop a set of tubular/spherical bearing front control arms, an adjsutable coil over set up, and a tubular/spherical bearing rear suspension member.
