I
have recently constructed a small capacity still for the prodcution of alcohol.
I constructed the still from tin cans, copper pipe and some other irrigation
fittings. The boiler is two fruit salad cans soldered together to give a volume
of about 6L. This volume allows me to produce about 700 mls of %50 ABV in
a single distiling run.
Warning:
Stills can be extreamly dangerous as they boil and condense alcohol, which
is extremely flamable. If you choose to build a still, always remember that
you are heating a mixture of flamable alcohol vapour and air WITH A FLAME!
for this reason, test your still with water first and make sure there are
no leaks, as if you are using a a burner to heat your still and you have a
leak.... BOOM, your still will become an explosive device, so be carefull.
