HOW TO SUBMIT
A SHORT FOR CONSIDERATION
First, go to www.yahoogroups.com/groups/exit131.
Join the Exit 131 yahoo group and become part of the reading, screening, discussion, and selection process. You will be put on our mailing list and will be notified of upcoming submission periods. Also, shorts can be posted at any time and shared with other members for feedback, prior to the submission period.
GUIDELINES:
Our production budget is ZERO. Our production schedule only allows for ONE day of shooting. All equipment and resources are donated by other members of Exit 131 (which means we do not have access to an extensive grip and camera package/but we have enough to get by). Therefore, you have a better chance of having your short script selected if you follow these guidelines:
1) Script should be between 5 and 10 pages long.
2) Story should be limited to a couple of FREE locations.
3) Story should be unique and interesting. A New Jersey flare is always a plus, but you don't need to be a New Jersey resident.
4) Story should not include expensive special effects or large crowd scenes.
5) The writer may not necessarily get to "direct" the short. This is a group decision based on the experience of the writer and the complexity of the shooting script. So don't even consider sending a script (your masterpiece/your vision) unless you can live with the possibility of someone else directing it.
6) Remember that this is a real FILM CO-OP, offering an open, collaborative, dynamic, and creative environment for filmmakers who want to make movies as part of a group, and not just for themselves. |
