Softball Rules

1. The League will be governed by the ASA �10-Man� Modified fast pitch rules. Please refer to Rule 6, Sections 1-11 of the 2005 edition of the ASA �Official rules of Softball.�
2. Exception: Only one foot on the rubber is required. The foot off the rubber must be parallel or in front of the foot on the rubber. There must be a discernable stop between the time the pitcher makes contact with the rubber and the time he begins his delivery.
3. The umpire has the final say in all matters. Pitching is not a protestable issue. We must accept their decision and play the game. Any complaints about pitching should be brought to the League President.
4. Only ASA sanctioned official softball bats will be permitted during play.
5. No metal spikes will be permitted on the field. If a player is found to be wearing metal spikes during a game, he will be ejected.
6. Stealing and leading are permitted once the ball has passed the plate.
7. Unlimited bunting is permitted.
8. All intentional walks must be played.
9. Free substitution will be used. A sub must remain in the game one complete inning. His team must field and bat.
10.  No women will be permitted to play in this League.
11.  ASA rules will be strictly interpreted and enforced by the umpires.
12.  No umpire requests will be honored from any church by the umpire association.

Playoffs and Awards

1. All teams will qualify for the playoffs. In all divisions, the 1st and 2nd place teams will earn a bye for the quarterfinal round. For the other teams in the quarterfinals, the 3rd place team will play the 6th place team, and the 4th place team will play the 5th place team. In the semifinals, the 1st place team will play the lowest remaining �seed�, with the second place team playing the other team. In all games, the higher seeded team will be the home team.
2. The championship games will be played concurrently at two separate neutral sites. The higher seeded team will be the home team. If the originally selected game site locations are not available, the League President has the discretion to change the locations and start times in order to best accommodate the League. The President will work with all teams involved to arrive at the best decision. The best available location (s) will be used to play these games.
3. Trophies will be presented to each of the six teams participating in the three championship games. Trophies will be presented immediately following the conclusion of the games. The Christian Conduct award will also be presented at this time.


Should there be a tie for a playoff position, tiebreakers will be in this order:
� head to head results
� point spread versus those teams involved in the tiebreaker
� fewest runs allowed during the season.
