This night was a different kind of night! But, different is often a good thing! Just for something different, we sat down with our awesome curries and rice and watched the movie, "Cool Runnings," which is a hillarious movie about the journey of the Jamaican bobsled team towards earning respect at the Calgary Winter Olympics.
Afterwards, we had some great discussions about why people strive towards a goal. Some people said that it doesn't matter so much if we aren't doing as well as some others, so longs as we are doing our best and pressing towards the goal we started out with.
Another person mentioned the part in the movie where the coach, Irving Blitzer (played by John Candy), tells Derice (played by Leon) about why he cheated when he was a bobsledder before. Click here to hear what he says.
So, it is important to work hard for those goals that we have in life. |
