�Nixon�s Mother� is a four-piece band, of Shannon abode. On lead vocals is Gary Dempsey: an untamed, energetic front man, best known for his topless antics. Playing the guitar is Sean McAvinue, bearded-barbarian-abomination, overcompensating for his lack of hygiene by throwing down some beautiful riffs and licks. Playing the bass is Gearoid Phelan, a man of musical creativity, fishnet, and androgyny. Then there�s Ferdia Bates, drummer extraordinaire, musical genius, and consistent enough in his topless ways to rival even Demps.
The band has been playing (excluding the days of fecklessness prior to the addition of Ferd) together for about a year now, developing a punk-meets-grunge-meets-Nixon�s Mother style of music� this being near impossible to explain in words, it would probably be better to go and see the band live; a healthy concoction of fuzz, sludge and hair await you.
Words of advice: Load up on booze. You�ll understand.
