FICTION Department
Synopsis: An early attempt at a humorous short story, told from first person POV. It features Bob, a young man with a metal plate in his head that can pick up radio stations, and the narrator, his 'friend'.

NOTES: Written in 30 minutes while listening to the radio, hence the musical references
.

Synopsis: A quickie story written for English III, the assignment being to use vernacular of some sort or another. I chose to use vernacular common to Vietnam-era Special Forces soldiers. One of my personal favorites. 1st person POV.

NOTES: Any acronym with an 'F' or 'A' in it should not be worried about. That was the only snag I had with the teacher was explaining what everything meant.
Alternate ending for Tom Clancy's The Bear and the Dragon.
This one needs a bit of explaining. We were told to choose a novel, read it, and at the end of the 6 weeks grading period, and pick one-of-three 'tests'. We could do a literary analysis, create a test with answer key, or re-write the ending of the story. As a long time Clancy fan, I was rather disapointed at how he closed the story. Bit of a let down, IMESHO. So I heartedly re-wrote the last chapter and put a good bit of effort into it, which is unusual for me.

Synop: An explanation of events previous is givin, and the story end begins. The main character is Jack Ryan, President of the United States. Washington just escaped nuclear destruction by the skin of it's teeth and a guided missile frigate. POTUS is stressed out. Something has to be done. 3rd person POV.

NOTES: Don't worry, I had permision to use the copious profanity that I used: it's " in the style of the author".  If you're one of Clancy's lawyers and I'm doing a bad thing, please contact me before suing.

Diary of Simon
Synopsis: An Extra Credit work. the assignment was to write a journal as one of the characters from Wiliam Golding's Lord of the Flies. I chose Simon, hence the title.I tried to stay true to the style of the book and of Simon. Nothing compared to the original book. If you haven't read the book, the please read it.

NOTES: The last bit was a bit of inspiration that really kind of weirded out a few folks.
