Hardware stores can be good sources of useful pyro chemicals and equipment. You can likely find at least one of the following: H2SO4, KNO3, acetone, MEK, H2O2, HCl, and that's just a few of the many useful things. Unfortunately though acetic anhydride and sodium azide airbag refills are not available at hardware stores, that was just in there for hyperbole.
