Provisions

Provisions needed for the well-ordered Militia. Both the list and the spelling were copied from the home page of the Minnesota Militia.  Thanks, guys!

This list is very bear bones and is in no way complete. More will be added to this list periodically.

Weapons/ Ammo

Rifle- .308, 7.62 X 39, and 5.56 recommended but others will work.

Pistol -.45 and 9MM recomended, but others will work.

Magazines -At least 4 mags for rifle, and at least 3 mags for pistol.

Ammo- rifle (100 rounds in immediate access, 900 rounds in reserve) -pistol (50 rounds in immediate access)

Knife -2 recommended. 1 folding utility type, and one fixed K-bar type.

Uniform

BDU's -matching camo, 1 set minimum, 5 sets recommended.
Boots -combat, outdoor type. 1 set minimum, two sets recommended.
Hats -boonie, watch, or other hat style, matching with BDU's.
T-Shirts -brown military style.
Packs, web gear

ALICE Pack- medium or large.
Web gear -belt, suspenders, pouches, etc.
Butt Pack
NBC/ MOPP Gear

Gas Masks -1 minimum, at least 2 recommended.
Chemical Suits -1 minimum, 3-5 recommended.
Gas Mask Filters - 2 minimum, 3-5+ recommended.
Gas Mask Hood- 1 minimum, 2 recommended.
Chemical Gloves- 1 set minimum, 3-5+ sets recommended.
Protective Overboots -1 set minimum, 3-5+ sets recommended.
Medical list

BANDAGING

3 Cravat Triangle Bandages in wrapper
3 field dressings in wrapper
1 abdominal dressing
Gauze pads, 4" X 4"
1 roll of adhesive medical tape, 2" wide
1 elastic-roll bandage
2 or 3 Steri-strips
Adhesive bandages, assorted sizes
Moleskin, 1 or 2 packets
OPEN WOUND CLOSURE

2 feet of stainless steel 000 suture
1 straight suture needle
Butterfly bandages
MEDICATION, ANTICEPTIC AND CLEANSERS

Ibuprofin (to alivate pain and swelling)
Tylenol (to aliviate pain and fever)
1 bottle Anbesol pain deadener
1 bottle (4 oz.) of Iodine solution
Alcohol swabs
Cotton swab, sterile, packaged in pairs
Antiseptic ointment
Dry-wash pads or wipes
Antihistamine
1 tube Monistat anti-fungal creme
Hydrocortisone cream (soothes allergic skin)
1 tube Benadry anti-bit creme (alergic reaction local)
12 Benadryl capsules, 25 mg (alergic reaction general)
1 tube baby rash ointment (w/ cod liver oil and zinc)
Diarrhea medicine
Tetracyclene Antibiotic
Antacid
PREVENTATIVE

Lip Balm
Sunscreen
Bug repellent

GENERAL TOOLS

1 pair EMT scheers
2 pair of latex gloves
Bulb irrigating syringe
Chemical heat and cold packs
Mirror, small and unbreakable
Safety pins
Tweezers
Emergency Blanket
First Aid Cards
Watertight container (for kit)

You may have other item's that may be essential for you, considering climate, current medical conditions (diabetes, allergies, etc.) and duration of stay away from medical help, but this list should give you a good starting point. In addition I would suggest that you have at least some first aid training, beyond high school.
