First of
all, information reflected was provided by the Historian Committee with

The Ninth District was established May 5 and 6,
1937 at the Moorland Branch YMCA in Dallas, Texas, under the direction of Brother J. D.
Bowles of Nu Phi Chapter of Houston, Texas
He was the appointed ninth District
Representative by the 16th Grand Basileus, the late Brother Albert W. Dent.
The late Brother Doctor Robert L. Gill in his
history, "The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Men Who Made Its History", states
the fraternity was re-districted to provide for 12 districts during World War II and post
Word War years 1941-1951. The Ninth District then consisted of the states of Texas,
Louisiana, Oklahoma and California. The fraternity was re-districted again for 11
districts during the post war years. The Ninth District became the states of Texas,
Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The National Office stated districts are established
not chartered.
