Even as a mortal, Maryska's beauty was etheral,
otherworldy, with her luminescent skin and pale,
sunbeam colored eyes. She stands tall and regal, an
Empress to her very heart, having been born in era
where such titles were held. Power, position, beauty,
were all assets for Maryska to command. Her true
heart, and command of other's hearts, drew her Sire
to her side. Amongst the first Childer of the great
Magnus, Maryska made the transition into Immortality
effortlessly.
She has always had incredible control of the Beast, and it is the same with the Hunger. In fact, Maryska seems to have bypassed the effects of her Embrace, such as Bloodlust and the drive to Hunt and Kill. Her powerful Bloodline, and her mastery of the Beast, have paid off well for this Immortal beauty. A dangerous adversary in any battle, whether it be mental, physical, or supernatural, Maryska Priscus has become more powerful than her Clan could have imagined. She has done so on her own. Maryska is fanatic where her bid for independence is concerned. Accepting little to no help from her Sire, she made her own place in her Clan, away from Magnus' reputation. She is not 'Magnus' Childe', nor will she ever be just that. Maryska is very close to Marie, whom she knew for a number of centuries as only Eurynome, but because of Maryska's self-inflicted seperation from her Clan, the two are not as close as they could be, considering they share a Sire. Since her Re-Birth, Maryska has been weakening the bond between herself and Magnus. At first, she was unaware of it, as she simply wanted independence from his name and her Clan's name. When she grew old enough to realize the power he held over her even when he did not choose to weild it, she began to weaken the bond between them. Magnus, consumed with his lovely Eurynome, allowed such a thing. The result is a Childe who has, in the 21st century, become as powerful as her own Sire. Maryska has two childer to date. Her first Childe, Helianne, though her secret joy, has been a trial to the ancient vampiress. From the first, Helianne was as resistant as her own sire to the constraints of Clan ettiquette, and Family. Helianne was not as subtle as her Sire, and chose outright rebellion to display her need for the independence she thought she could take. The punishment for decades of this dangerous rebellion resulted in the banishment of Helianne from her Clan. Angered at the decision, but understanding of it as well, Maryska bid her daughter to leave, and did the same. Even though her daughter is Banished, Maryska kept the girl with her despite the fact that this was not allowed, and has given her the name Priscus despite Marie and Magnus' anger at the action. In New York, she gained a second childe, who proved to be as troublesome as her own Helianne. Nouri was a street punk that Helianne had taken a fancy to, and eventually Embraced to please Helianne. But, Maryska soon came to adore her second just as much as her first. There are no bounderies that Maryska would not cross for either of her daughters. In New York, Maryska has become a powerful woman, business-wise and Clan-wise. Her territory, claimed under the Priscus title, is well respected. Since she refused to make decisions in the city for the Priscus Clan, Maryska declined the offer of a Council seat. The Clans know, and respect her, her territory, her position. She does not feel threatened in any by the arrival of her Family into the city that she has made her home. She is, however, wary of their attitudes towards her banished childe, Helianne. As Maryska's First Childe, Helianne is very much the center of this elegant vampiress' life, just as Nouri is, and both are gems worth risking the wrath of the Gods for. |
