Attractive
but not beautiful is how most describe the tiny red-headed Jordanna Deveraux.
Jordan, as she prefers to be called, is an unusual and controversial addition
to the Priscus Clan. Faced with the decision of throwing away her
life in seeking Canio Di Nerezza's destruction, or joining the ranks of
the undead to ensure it, she sought out Marie and arranged a bargain of
sorts - her life for the protection of her youngest sister Leigh.
On the very night she was to be turned by Marie, Jordan was attacked and
left for dead by her own sister, Francesca Di Nerezza. She was embraced
by Marie minutes later, ensuring her own survival, as well as her sister's.
The eldest daughter of Creed Deveraux, Jordan had come to LA seeking one thing - revenge for her father's murder. As time passed, Jordan found herself in the unlikely position on having not one but two siblings, her twin brother Cole and younger sister Francesca embraced by different Clans. Her youngest sister Leigh was growing more headstrong - and reckless - by the day. And rumors within the Kindred world that the three Deveraux sisters made up the prophesized Triumvirate began to grow stronger, placing both Leigh and herself at risk of becoming pawns in a battle for Clan control within LA. As the battles between herself and Canio became more and more hazardous, and the risks to her family's well-being more apparent, Jordan made her difficult decision - join Marie and live to fight Canio and his Clan.
Jordan's time was a Watcher was not in vain, as she has
chosen to follow the teachings of the vampire Lazarus. This controversial
figure in vampire history taught that vampires were created by God, and
help to balance the powers of darkness by literally devouring evil - that
is, to feed solely on mortals who seek the path of darkness. Such
a concientous separation from the normal mores of Kindred society ensure
that it is
Fine-boned and petite, Jordan hardly strikes onlookers as a threat or a warrior. But make no doubt, she is deadly in her causes - and does not hesitate to strike against those who seek to harm her Clan, or those whom she loves. The untapped power of the Triumvirate runs most strongly with Jordan, and even Marie remains apprehensive of what might happen if that power were unleashed on the world. Jordan regards Marie as more then her sire; she views
her as a trusted friend and confidante. Above all, she seeks Marie's
approval in her actions, and would willingly lay her life down for her
sire's. This is a resolve that may be put the test in the uncertain
atmosphere of New York City...especially when she she has to choose between her sire and Adam.
