Celine Deveraux

Of the Deveraux Family, the most notable member was Dorrain Deveraux, who chose to live her life in the service of the Watchers. She was to become one of histories greatest Watchers. But she was not alone in this battle. Her sister, Deborah, was amongst the Watcher ranks as one of the most honorable fighters, though Dorrain's history very nearly overshadowed the younger sister. Deborah was killed mere months before Dorrain's shocking affair with the vampire King, Canio Di Nerezza, came to light, and the following bloodbath plunged the Deveraux and Di Nerezza into their centuries-long feud.

She left behind one daughter, Corrine Deveraux, to carry on her legacy. Corrine continued on, but not as her Mother had hoped. She instead moved away from the pain and death of the Watchers and into a quiet town in Virginia, settling down with her husband and their daughter, Celine. Corinne was careful not to keep any secrets from her only child, knowing that such lies between Family only created dissention. As a result, Celine was well aware of her Families legacy, though not allowed to indulge in it too much. Corinne was adamant about her only child not become a vampire slayer. She needn't have worried, as Celine's earliest ambition was to become a Doctor.

Celine was a tomboy to the deepest parts of her soul, and a 'Daddy's girl' in her heart. Her Father, she was especially close to. Robert Haughton was a police officer, and a good man, who adored his daughter. Celine was often seen tagging along at his heels, a Winchester rifle weighing her down, as they went hunting almost every week when the season permitted.

It was her third year of Med school when her Mother was killed by vampires. The Deveraux's legacy had caught up with the small Family. Coming home from schoo for the funeral, an already devastated Celine was met with the sight of her indomitable Father drowned in pity and alcohol. Giving up her dreams to care for him, Celine sat in her old bedroom and listened to her Father rant drunkenly about justice and revenge until he drank himself to death four short months later.

Not even a week past before she was contacted by Jude Robarbs. He offered to take care of the financial portions of her inheritance, but Celine's dominant independent streak caused her to push the man right back out of her life, and she painstakingly handled her Father's accounts.

Having no where else to go, literally, Celine had the house she grew up in sold, and packed her things. She has very little idea of her goal, but her paranoia is running at a fever pitch, leading her directly to her Family in New York. Having had no contact at all with Creed's children, Celine is not sure what to expect. All she knows is that she is nursing a healthy hatred for all things undead, and packing enough firepower to compensate for her lack of hand-to-hand abilities.
