When she was born her father wanted to have her baptized with his last name, but Medea refused, just as she refused to marry him before she was born and make Alice 'legitimate'. These disagreements put a definite strain on the couple's relationship and it was actually Alice's birth that torn the two Watchers about. By the time she was six months old, it was obvious to anyone in the Forty that Medea and Arnand were not getting back together again.

Alice herself is a very grown-up three year old. Living in the midst of the Forty has some to do with it, but it is also just her general personality. She is a serious little girl .... questioning everything and always in search of something new to learn. She can already read and is learning how to write thanks to her uncles Percy and Hadrian who school her in the catacombs under St. Patrick's where she spends most of her days.

It is uncertain what sort of power Alice may have inherited from her father, but so far she seems to be just another little girl. Both Arnand and Medea agree that that is the way they wish for it to stay for their daughter .... neither wants her to have to deal with half the horrors Arnand has had to endure.

Alice is a sweet looking little girl with the face of a cherub. She has dark eyes and whispy auburn hair. During the day she can usually be found with her aunts and uncles looking through tomes and playing tag and hide and seek among the stacks, or playing in the corner of Arnand's offices with her dolls.
