Though there were not many warriors within the
Children of Gaia, there were those who felt a
different calling than the way of spiritual peace.
There were those who longed for the endless nights and
moonlit forests to run wild into, and no amount of
prayer could hamper the feeling. Guylaine, born of
Gaian parents and grandparents, was not the first to
feel such a calling, such a wild sense of wanderlust.
Many of the younger pups of his Tribe felt the need to
run wild as they were meant to, as the first
Werewolves lived. And in this they were not hindered
by their leaders, but encouraged. Eventually, this
would lead them to positions as protectors, as every
Tribe did not feel that the way of diplomacy was
correct.
Guylaine was not present at the onset of the attack. He and his other packmates had been deep in the rainforest, their human counterparts lost in the wind as the animal took over. But the call of their Tribe reached them, just not soon enough. When Guylaine reached their home, they were attacked by the last of the vampires, who had been scavenging for souveniers, claws of the fallen warriors. Guylaine did not escape unscathed. He found Irayne inside, and realizing that they were the last of the Tribe, took a blood vow to protect her with his own life. She in turn, named his her surrogate son. Guylaine is fiercely protective of Irayne, and though
his rage often tempts him to slaughter any Kindred
that comes across his path, he's narrowed his revenge
to those few that slaughtered his Tribe. Constantly
torn between his need for revenge, and Irayne's gentle
teachings, Guylaine is of two minds about the destiny
of his race, and the continued survival of the
Vampires.
