Simon Andrasta

Simon was former CIA, working as a detective in Pittsburgh. He and his partner were working Homicide, getting pressure from their supervisors to bury the cases where deaths involved bloodless bodies and two distinct puncture wounds in the neck. Simon was more than willing to, he didn't believe in vampires, and he was pissed that the true killer was eluding them every night. His partner, however, would not leave it alone. They finally pulled up a suspect in a man named Christopher Leighton. Christopher Leighton was actually Christopher Andrasta, and was the one behind the murders. He sent his lawyer, a woman named Leona Andrake, to handle the two Pittsburgh detectives. Leona ended up sleeping with Simon's partner, who started experiencing memory loss and began raving about vampires and creatures of the night. No one knew the real reason, except Leona, who was the crux of the problem. She was the childe of Christopher Andrasta, sent into the discourage Simon and his partner.

She started to get closer to Simon, intended the same, seducing him (willingly!) and playing with his mind. Only it failed to work with Simon, and Leona ended up falling for the gruff cop. She told him the truth, directly before Embracing him. Angry at the deception and his current state of dead-ness, Simon went after Christopher Andrasta directly. He killed the man, with Leona as an unwilling witness. When the rest of the Andrasta came for his head, she took the blame onto herself. She vowed that Christopher was betraying the Andrasta, and produced sufficient evidence to that fact, leading Simon to believe that Leona had this planned for a while. The Clan believed her, and Simon kept his head.

After the initial anger, Simon and Leona got back together, and then got married. He became an Enforcer for the Family, as he was no longer able to work on the force. Besides, the number of Kindred ghouls working alongside him freaked him out. He packed up and headed to Italy with his wife, and a few of the Clan members to carve out some territory there for the Andrasta. A large part of Italy was turned into a battleground for the turf war that was soon waged there. Simon was one of the leaders of the turf skirmish, and the resulting prize was the land and businesses that belonged to the Andrasta after the dust settled. The win was tempered with despair for Simon, though. His wife, Leona, was killed at the hands of the Di Nerezza in retaliation for the lost turf. Her death was unnecessary, because the turf war was completely fair, and the Di Nerezza were simply being spiteful in taking his dearest possession.

Leona's death turned him into a bitter man, and a much more lethal warrior than the Di Nerezza could have ever imagined. He gives new meaning to the phrase 'army of one'.
