Lorelei was born in France, the daughter of an
unfaithful Mother and a deeply religous Father. They
were a wealthy family, connected with the Church and
all of Frances religious affairs. The day after
Lorelei's birth, her Mother was killed by an assasin
hired by her Father, the murder named a Holy Act so as
to cause as little suspicion as possible.
As a cruel reminder of what her Mother was, and what
she would become should she stray from the path of
God, her Father named her Lorelei. Lorelei was a
Siren of Germanic legends, renowned for luring sailors
on the Rhine River to their deaths. Saddled with her
name, and her Mother's tarnished legacy, Lorelei was
forced into an abbey at the age of seven, to spend her
days in prayer for the sins of her Mother.
She was twenty-one when she was saved from a life of servitude by Marie Priscus. Marie had been a loyal friend to Lorelei's murdered Mother, and had long ago made a promise to keep the woman's daughter safe from the tyranny of her Father. Marie was making good on that promise, and she did so by offering Lorelei the Embrace. The young woman accepted, even though she had little idea what was in store for her when she agreed to become one of the Damned. Until Sebastian Andrasta, the only pain that Lorelei had ever known had been of the spiritual persuausion when she had to choose whether or not to become Childe to Marie Priscus. Posing as a priest to enter the abbey, the Andrasta vampire was about to show the young woman, and newly turned childe, an entirely new type of terror. At the time, Lorelei was only a week turned. Marie, having met resistance from Lorelei's Father, sought to keep the entire matter private and left the young Kindred in the abbey in order to deal with Lorelei's Father. It was assumed that Lorelei would be safe, as there were few vampires who had the inclination to pass onto Holy ground. Lorelei was young, and confused. Even though she was a vampire, a concept not entirely understood by the woman, she was still as God-fearing as she was when she was human. Such a trait was an oddity in any vampire, and drew Sebastian to the innocent. Lorelei was unable to surpress the hormonal urges that plagued her dreams and her body every night, all enhanced the bloodlust fighting for dominance inside of her body. As Marie was not yet returned, Lorelei tearfully confessed as much to "Father Sebastian", unaware of how amusing he was finding her suffering. Lorelei was strong in her faith, perhaps moreso that anyone else in the abbey, and seeing this, Sebastian immediately sought to destroy that strength. Also, he had discerned early on that she was a childe of Marie Priscus, young and untouched by her demon. At first, it was seduction, of her mind and her body. She became plagued with guilt and thoughts of suicide, feeding Sebastian's sadistic hunger. Next, came the horror. Finally revealing to the abbey what he was, Sebastian mercilessly tortured and killed everyone in the abbey, except Lorelei. Nearly catatonic with horror by the time he had completed his carnage, Sebastian introduced Lorelei to pain in its finest form. His torture proved unbearable, and in the six days that he kept her alive, she begged God for mercey non-stop, called out to her Sire to release her unto death. But, unknown to Lorelei, this was only further igniting Sebastian's temper. He wanted her to plead with him for mercy, not with the absent Marie. At weeks end, Lorelei was spirited away from the abbey by Sebastian as Marie was now hurrying towards her young childe, having felt the sudden pain the neonate was in. The Priscus Queen arrived only in time to witness the aftermath of Sebastian's carnage. uried deep in France with Sebastian, the young vampire was alternately cowering away from, and yearning for her captors affection, which he delivered to her, either in the form of affectionate kisses, or punishing blows. In the months that followed, Lorelei developed acute Stockholm Syndrome, a bonding with her captor, so dangerously acute that Lorelei convinced herself that she had fallen in love with Sebastian Andrasta. This went on for more than a year, before Sebastian finally released her from his torturous hold, and actually allowed her the freedom to be what she was, rather than cower. And together destroyed everything they touched. In Bayern, more than fifteen years later, Lorelei and Sebastian were in the process of obliterating an entire town that had made the mistake of renting them a room with two beds, rather than one. When she was put directly into Marie Priscus' path once again. But her Embrace had been over fifteen years ago, shadowed by pain and suffering, and Lorelei had shut that part of her life away tightly. Marie could do naught but watch as her childe moved about her as if she did not know her own Sire. Sebastian was aware, though, and used this to taunt Marie endlessly. But the Priscus Queen wouldn't dare unlock the part of Lorelei's mind that contained memories of her Embrace. To do so would bring back the uninmaginable pain that the young woman had suffered through at Sebastian's hands. Though Marie was reluctant, Sebastian was not. He forced her to remember, giving her a skewed version of her Embrace, and her abandonment by her Sire. In the midst of the bloodbath that followed on the footsteps of these released memories, Lorelei suddenly turned on Sebastian. They ended up clawing each other half to death. She was trying to kill him. Sebastian wouldn't have respected her otherwise. Lorelei left two nights later. Seeking her true Sire, the broken fledgling searched out Marie. She did not search for long, as the Priscus Queen found her lost childe. Thinking herself finally home, she was unprepared for the dislike and mistrust that glittered in the eyes of Marie's children. She responded the only way she knew, the way she had been taught by Sebastian, and that was with fury. That made her an outcast with the young Priscus', but Marie did not give up on her confused childe. And none of it matter as long as Lorelei belonged, and with Marie, she did. It was not to last, though. Some of the Kinded in the area had been making trouble with the local, highly superstitious humans, and the results were bad for the Priscus. The humans came in the dead of night, setting fire to the house Marie had made for her children. Marie rushed to get them to safety, but Lorelei found herself trapped by one of her vindictive kindred siblings. She screamed for her sire, but Marie remained deaf to her plea's. It was later that Lorelei realized it was deliberate on Marie's part. She saw it as sacrificing one for the lives of more of her children, the same ones who would see Lorelei dead. Lorelei saw it as abandonment, once again. She burrowed into the earth and out of the burning building, loosing her ring along the way. She went to the only person she had left, however reluctant and fearful. She returned to the open arms and closed fists of Sebastian Andrasta. But he would not find the meek girl he'd first
encountered. Her stockholm syndrome was gone, and in
its place was a full cognizant, and deadly
Priscus-turned-Andrasta.
